Description

A delightful shrimp pasta recipe packed with flavor, perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 oz spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, prepare the shrimp by tossing them in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
  3. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced onion and garlic to the pan, and cook until fragrant.
  5. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until they turn pink and are cooked through.
  6. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set them aside.
  7. In the same pan, combine ketchup, Shaoxing wine, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, light soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and salt and pepper.
  8. Pour in the water and bring to a gentle simmer, cooking until the sauce has thickened.
  9. Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the pan, tossing everything to coat in the sauce.
  10. Serve hot, garnished with fresh black pepper.

Notes

This dish pairs great with a crisp green salad or garlic bread.
