Description
A delightful shrimp pasta recipe packed with flavor, perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 onion, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 cup water
- 8 oz spaghetti
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- While the pasta is cooking, prepare the shrimp by tossing them in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced onion and garlic to the pan, and cook until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Remove the shrimp from the pan and set them aside.
- In the same pan, combine ketchup, Shaoxing wine, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, light soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and salt and pepper.
- Pour in the water and bring to a gentle simmer, cooking until the sauce has thickened.
- Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the pan, tossing everything to coat in the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh black pepper.
