Description

A vibrant and scrumptious garlic lettuce dish that adds a fresh, crunchy element to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 300g romaine lettuce (or any crisp lettuce)
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Red chili peppers, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lettuce: Rinse the lettuce thoroughly and drain well. If the leaves are large, tear them into smaller pieces for easy serving.
  2. Blanch the lettuce: Boil a pot of water, add a pinch of salt and a few drops of oil. Blanch the lettuce for about 30 seconds until it softens slightly. Remove the lettuce, drain, and arrange it on a serving plate.
  3. Make the sauce: Heat the cooking oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in oyster sauce, soy sauce, water, and sugar. Mix well and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Assemble the dish: Pour the sauce evenly over the blanched lettuce.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately as a side dish. Enjoy every luscious bite!

Notes

Freshness is key – always use crisp lettuce. Customize with protein for a hearty dish.
