Ingredients
- 300g romaine lettuce (or any crisp lettuce)
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- Red chili peppers, optional
Instructions
- Prepare the lettuce: Rinse the lettuce thoroughly and drain well. If the leaves are large, tear them into smaller pieces for easy serving.
- Blanch the lettuce: Boil a pot of water, add a pinch of salt and a few drops of oil. Blanch the lettuce for about 30 seconds until it softens slightly. Remove the lettuce, drain, and arrange it on a serving plate.
- Make the sauce: Heat the cooking oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in oyster sauce, soy sauce, water, and sugar. Mix well and cook for 1 minute.
- Assemble the dish: Pour the sauce evenly over the blanched lettuce.
- Serve: Serve immediately as a side dish. Enjoy every luscious bite!
