Ingredients
Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp salt
Chocolate Filling:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)

- Melted chocolate drizzle
- Powdered sugar dusting
- Chocolate sprinkles
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
- Prepare the Chocolate Filling:
- Melt the chocolate chips in 15-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between each.
- Stir in cocoa powder and powdered sugar (if using). Set aside to cool slightly.
Assemble the Buns:
- Punch down the risen dough and divide into 12 equal portions.
- Flatten each piece into a small disc, spoon a teaspoon of chocolate filling into the center, and seal tightly. Roll into a ball and place seam-side down on a greased baking tray.
Second Rise:
- Cover the buns with a clean towel and let rise for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
Bake the Buns:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the buns for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
Add Toppings:
- Drizzle with melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
